Trieste, Italy: three young men are beaten up in the parking lot of a restaurant. Among them there’s Antonio, known activist for the LGBT community in Trieste.

While the reasons of the aggression aren’t yet certain, the day after, a city counsellor, Fabio Tuiach, states publicly: ““[…] maybe he fought with his fiancé for the vaseline” and again “remember that in more than one third of the planet the homophobia problem does not exist because gays are wether in jail or executed. In the past we used to burn them…“

The president of the region FVG Fedriga and the major of the city Di Piazza, didn’t take any position and what’s even more scary, is that perhaps a good part of the population seem to share the opinion of the far-right city counsellor and former boxer.
