In Monfalcone the works of redevelopment of the historical centre are starting. The project foresees the removal of, among others, some trees, benches and a playground for children.

The current mayor claims that: “[…] The taxi stand area will be rethought and the whole internal traffic route will be reshaped. In fact, 30% more green space will be recovered”.

The approved project, on the other hand, “[…] proposes to reduce the quantity of the current trees by 30% in compliance with the project’s distribution logic, freeing up an area to be treated as lawn. All this is indicated in the project’s fractional drawings” (general technical report attached to Council resolution no. 48 of 18 February 2021).
